Daredevil Season 3 teaser follows The Defenders finale

“Like a muddled spring or a polluted fountain, is the righteous man who gives way before the wicked.”
A new teaser video for Daredevil Season 3 has landed, picking up from the events of the The Defenders’ finale.
Warning: spoilers for The Defenders follow.
The Defenders, you may recall, climaxed with Elektra and Daredevil sparring underneath Midland Circle in the middle of Hell’s Kitchen, as Matthew Murdock (Charlie Cox) kept her there while the building exploded above them. The final scene shows him in bed and his eyes fluttering open. “Go get Sister Maggie,” says the nun caring for him – a hint that Murdock’s birth mother is likely to appear.
Murdock’s mother would suggest that Season 3 of Daredevil is shaping up to be an adaptation of Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli’s Born Again, one of the character’s most popular and well-known comic book arcs. Netflix’s version of Daredevil has already altered the character significantly from the comics, but the tone and themes of Born Again gives a good idea of what fans can expect of Murdock’s return.
We can also expect some serious drama, as Murdock chooses not to tell his friends that he’s alive after all – judging by the teaser video published by the official @Daredevil account, which presents us with a program for the character’s funeral.
Filming on the new season is just beginning, with the third run expected to premiere sometime in 2018.
