Community Season 6 will premiere on Yahoo in March

Community Season 6 will premiere on Tuesday 17th March, Yahoo has announced.
The former NBC comedy, which began back in 2009, only to have showrunner Dan Harmon fired after Season 3, only to have Harmon rehired again for Season 5, only to be cancelled after its fifth season, was resurrected by the Internet last year. While everyone expected Netflix to pick up the pieces, though, Yahoo emerged as the ultimate home for Harmon’s sitcom.
The company’s chief marketing officer Kathy Savitt phoned him and spoke to him for 40 minutes, he told the press at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour.
“She turned me 180 degrees,” he said.
The show will return for 13 new episodes exclusively on Yahoo Screen, with two beginning on Tuesday 17th March. New episodes will then be released every Tuesday.
How will the show differ from its previous incarnation? The online nature will give it more freedom, Harmon revealed.
“The corset loosens a little bit,” he told reporters. “There’s a little, tiny bit more Britishness to the comedy. It’s a little freer.”
Yahoo has also released a promo video announcing the show’s premiere date, including familiar faces from the cast alongside new member Paget Brewster.
Several new cast members will not return, including Donald Glover, Chevy Chase and Yvette Nicole Brown. John Oliver and Breaking Bad’s Jonathan Banks will also not return – the latter presumably because of Better Call Saul commitments.

Harmon joked that he was pleased to be returning – although he dreaded being dropped by Yahoo too.
“It will be weird when we get canceled by the Internet. We’ll become a roving band of street performers, doing stunts and stuff.”
