Billie Piper will star in Coming Undone, a new series based on the memoirs of Terri White.
White, who was the editor of Empire magazine from 2015 to September 2021, has previously worked for Time Out and The Sunday Times. Her memoir, which was published in 2020, is a no-holds-barred account of inner trauma that, while she was outwardly successful in the media and publishing world, led her spiralling into a mental health crisis, ultimately spending time on a psychiatric ward. From growing up in poverty to abuse suffered as a child, the book has earned acclaimed since it was published – and now, it’s attracted Netflix’s attention.
Billie Piper will star in and exec-produce the project, with White adapting the book for the screen. It is produced by Bad Wolf, the company behind A Discovery Of Witches and I Hate Suzie (pictured), the Sky drama that Piper starred in and co-created.
