Chester Zoo live-streams virtual day at the zoo
With the UK essentially on lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic, a growing number of organisations are turning to the wonders of online video to reach the public. While digital theatre recordings and watch-along parties are commonplace occurrences in the streaming arena, one place in the world is hosting a rather unusual live-stream today: Chester Zoo.
The zoo is throwing up its gates on Facebook all day to bring people close-up to its animals during these strange times – ideal for families and parents looking to homeschool children with a bit of biological insight, or for simply keeping everyone in the house entertained.
The schedule for the day, which began this morning, runs as follows:
10:00 Red pandas
11:00 Rothschild’s giraffes
12:00 Asian elephants
13:00 Butterflies
14:00 Sun bears
14:30 Sumatran tigers
15:00 Humboldt penguins
16:00 Aquarium
