Netflix unveils True Memoirs of an International Assassin trailer

Kevin James’ new Netflix film is getting ever nearer and now, we have our first look at the action comedy, with the release of the movie’s first trailer.
True Memoirs of an International Assassin stars James as Sam Larson, a mild-mannered would-be author who gets mistaken for a killer-for-hire when his fictional novel about an international assassin is published as a true story. When the book is a huge success, he is suddenly kidnapped, taken out of the country, and forced into an assassination plot.
The film is released on Netflix on Friday 11th November. Here’s the trailer:

It’s been many months since we first heard about Netflix’s latest original comedy commission, True Memoirs of an International Assassin, starring Andy Garcia and Kevin James. Now, for those wondering “What happened to that Kevin James Netflix movie?”, we’ve got an answer: the film is being lined up for a November release.
The action comedy stars James as Sam Larson, a mild-mannered would-be author who gets mistaken for a killer-for-hire when his fictional novel about an international assassin is published as a true story. When the book is a huge success, he is suddenly kidnapped, taken out of the country, and forced into an assassination plot.
Alongside Garcia and James, the cast includes Zulay Henao (Meet the Blacks), Maurice Compte (Narcos), Andrew Howard (Taken 3), Rob Riggle (22 Jump Street), Kelen Coleman (The McCarthy’s), Leonard Earl Howze (Memphis Beat), Yul Vasquez (The Lottery) and Kim Coates (Sons of Anarchy).
The movie is directed by Jeff Wadlow (Kick Ass 2), who wrote the script with Jeff Morris. It’s produced by Todd Garner, Mark Fasano, Raja Collins and Justin Begnaud, with Kevin Frakes, Ankur Rungta and Guy Riedel serving as Executive Producers.
The film will premiere on Friday 11th November on Netflix worldwide.

Netflix has announced the cast of Kevin James’ True Memoirs of an International Assassin.
Directed by Jeff Wadlow (Kick Ass 2), it sees the Paul Blart: Mall Cop star play a mild-mannered would-be author, who gets mistaken for a killer-for-hire when his fictional novel about an international assassin is published as a true story.
After the book is a huge success, he is suddenly kidnapped and taken to Venezuela and forced into an assassination plot – a plot that will see James rub shoulders with a cast that includes Zulay Henao (The Single Moms Club), Andy Garcia (Kill the Messenger), Maurice Compte (Netflix’s Narcos), Kelen Coleman (CBS The McCarthy’s), Andrew Howard (Taken 3), Rob Riggle (22 Jump Street), Leonard Earl Howze (TNT’s Memphis Beat), Yul Vasquez (Lifetime Networks The Lottery) and Kim Coates (FX Networks Sons of Anarchy).
Wadlow co-wrote the script with Jeff Morris, with Guy Riedel serving as executive producer. The rest of the filmmaking team includes director of photography Peter Collister (Underworld: Awakening), production designer Toby Corbett (Pitch Perfect 2), and costume designer Lizz Wolf (The Expendables 3). The film is edited by Sean Albertson (The Expendables 3).
The film is a co-production between Kevin Frakes, Mark Fasano and Ankur Rungta of PalmStar Media, Todd Garner of Broken Road Productions and Raja Collins and Justin Begnaud of Global Film Group.
Principal photography began on the project in Atlanta on 16th November and will wrap in the Dominican Republic this week, with a global Netflix premiere set for later this year.
