Trailer: Netflix’s The Killer has bad intentions

“When you have bad intentions, it’s clear in your eyes…” That O Matador, The Killer, in Netflix’s first Brazilian original film.
Created by Marcelo Galvão (Colegas), the film is a western that is set between the 1910s and 1940s and tells the story of Shaggy (Diogo Morgado), a feared killer in the state of Pernambuco. Shaggy, raised by a local bandit named Seven Ears (Deto Montenegro) who found him as an abandoned baby, grows up in the wilderness, completely isolated.
As he investigates the whereabouts of Seven Ears, his search leads him back to civilisation and a place ruled by the tyrannical Monsieur Blanchard (Etienne Chicot), a Frenchman who runs the precious stones trade and previously employed Seven Ears as an assassin. Shaggy’s journey will bring him to discover that his violent past is a legacy that refuses to die alongside him.
Directed by Marcelo Galvão (Colegas, A Despedida), the cast also includes Nill Marcondes (A Frente Fria que a Chuva Traz; Man of the Year) and Maria de Medeiros (The Forbidden Room; Pulp Fiction), alongside Mel Lisboa, Daniela Galli, Igor Cotrim and Thaís Cabral and the American Will Roberts.

Netflix announces first original Brazilian film, O Matador

Filming will begin on Netflix’s first original Brazilian film this month.
Netflix continues to bring Brazilian content to the world, as it announced today that principal photography on O Matador will start in August.
Created by Marcelo Galvão (Colegas), the film is a western that is set between the 1910s and 1940s and tells the story of Shaggy (Diogo Morgado), a feared killer in the state of Pernambuco. Shaggy, raised by a local bandit named Seven Ears (Deto Montenegro) who found him as an abandoned baby, grows up in the wilderness, completely isolated from civilization.
Now an adult, he finally goes to town to look for Seven Ears who has disappeared, but instead finds a place ruled by the tyrannical Monsieur Blanchard (Etienne Chicot), a Frenchman who runs the precious stones trade and previously employed Seven Ears as an assassin.
The cast also includes Nill Marcondes (A Frente Fria que a Chuva Traz; Man of the Year) and Maria de Medeiros (The Forbidden Room; Pulp Fiction), alongside Mel Lisboa, Daniela Galli, Igor Cotrim and Thaís Cabral and the American Will Roberts.
