Capone, starring Tom Hardy, finally has a UK release date with the gangster drama set for a February debut on Netflix UK.
Written and directed by Fantastic Four and Chronicle helmer Josh Trank, the film chronicles the final days of notorious gangster Al Capone. A ruthless businessman and bootlegger who ruled Chicago with an iron fist, Al “Fonzo” Capone was the most infamous and feared gangster of American lore. At the age of 47, following nearly a decade of imprisonment, dementia rots Capone’s mind and his past becomes present as harrowing memories of his violent and brutal origins melt into his waking life.
The movie drew a lot of attention when it debuted on premium VOD last May in the USA – one of to first notable films to movie from cinemas to a digital premiere during the coronavirus pandemic. It initially performed well in the iTunes chart, with a cast that gets added star power from Linda Cardellini, Matt Dillon and Kyle Machlachan in supporting roles.
The film has yet to have a UK release, but we can now confirm that it has a premiere date for audiences on this side of the Atlantic, with Capone available to stream on Netflix UK from 24th February. For more on what’s coming soon to Netflix UK, click here – or read on for the trailer.
Capone is available on Netflix UK, as part of an £9.99 monthly subscription.
