BritBox is bringing back classic episodes of soap operas to keep viewers entertained during the coronavirus lockdown.
The new collection of classic Coronation Street and Emmerdale, available now, comprises more than 30 of the shows’ best episodes. Episodes have been hand-picked to showcase the most momentous moments from both series, spanning four decades. They include the very first episode of Emmerdale (then called Emmerdale Farm) from October 1972, and the memorable Coronation Street episode from 1974 where Bet, Emily, Deirdre, Mavis, Rita, Betty, Annie and Hilda go on holiday in Majorca.
BritBox will also be launching brand new, hand-picked collections for soap fans to peruse including Classic Couples, Soap Disasters, Hatches, Matches and Dispatches, and Four Weddings and a Funeral among others. Collections will also be devoted to Soap Legends including the likes of William Roache who plays Ken Barlow.
ITV Hub is also launching new vintage episodes of Coronation Street and Emmerdale on the catch-up service every weekday.
The full collection is available at britbox.co.uk/soaps.
