The Afterparty will be kicking off again this July, and a new trailer gives us a first look at Season 2 in action.
Created and directed by Chris Miller, The Afterparty’s first season unravelled a murder mystery at a high school reunion. Each episode explored a different character’s account of the fateful evening in question, all through the lens of popular film genres and unique visuals to match the storyteller’s perspective. The first season starred Tiffany Haddish, Sam Richardson, Zoë Chao, Ben Schwartz, Ike Barinholtz, Ilana Glazer, Jamie Demetriou and Dave Franco.
Sam Richardson and Zöe Chao will reprise their roles, alongside Haddish as Detective Danner, who investigates a murder at a wedding. When the groom is murdered and every guest is a suspect, Detective Danner helps Aniq (Richardson) and Zoë (Chao) solve whodunnit by questioning family members, star-crossed lovers and business partners, and hearing each suspect’s retelling of the weekend, each with their own unique perspective and visual style.
Joining the cast will be John Cho, Paul Walter Hauser, Ken Jeong, Anna Konkle, Poppy Liu, Elizabeth Perkins, Jack Whitehall, Zach Woods and Vivian Wu. You can see them in action on 12th July, when the first two episodes arrive on Apple TV+, followed by weekly episodes until the finale on 6th September.
