Almost Family creator Annie Weisman has inked an overall deal with Apple.

Weisman, who has a knack for darkly funny, female-led series, has a wealth of TV shows under her belt, from Desperate Housewives and The Path to About a Boy. She previously had an overall deal in place at Universal TV, but is no stranger to Apple TV+, with her series Physical already given a green light by the tech giant.

Physical, starring Rose Byrne, follows a woman struggling as a housewife in 1980s Southern California. But within her beach community, she finds an unconventional path to power through aerobics. Weisman executive produces Physical alongside Alex Cunningham, John McNamara, Sera Gamble, Byrne and Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios.

Now, she’s building on that with a two-year deal to develop TV projects exclusively for Apple TV+. She joins an impressive roster of talent with deals in place at Apple, including Alfonso Cuaron, Sharon Horgan, Kerry Ehrin, Simon Kinberg, Julia Louise-Dreyfus and Justin Lin.
