The first two seasons of Homeland and American Horror Story will be available exclusively on Netflix UK and Ireland from Thursday 13th March 2014 – or, as we like to call it, tomorrow.
The critically acclaimed drama Homeland stars Claire Danes as CIA agent Carrie Mathison and Damian Lewis as American soldier Sergeant Nicholas Brody. The show follows Brody’s transformation from war hero to suspected sleeper terrorist after he returns home from 10 years capture in Iraq.
American Horror Story is the award-winning hit anthology series from creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Fulchuck. The first American Horror Story follows the Harmon family, who move from Boston to Los Angeles to reconcile past anguish. It stars Connie Britton, Dylan McDermott, Jessica Lange and Kate Mara, star of Netflix Original series House of Cards.
Series two, American Horror Story: Asylum, is set in a Church-run haven for the criminally insane in 1964, ruled with an iron fist by a nun with a troubled past, Sister Jude, played by Jessica Lange. Season 2 also stars Sarah Paulson, Joseph Fiennes and Zachary Quinto.
“We are excited to bring both of these brilliant series, Homeland and American Horror Story, to our members in the UK & Ireland,” said Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer at Netflix. “These global smash series are two of the most talked about shows in entertainment, and we think that our members are going to love these latest additions.”
The arrival of Homeland and American Horror Story mark the latest deal with Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution. who already have Sons of Anarchy, The Killing, 24, Prison Break, Arrested Development and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia on Netflix UK.
The agreement also adds to the titles available on Netflix UK and not on Netflix US. US Netflix users were only recently able to watch the final season of Breaking Bad.
