Amazon to give away Transparent S2 premiere tickets on Prime Day

Amazon will be giving away two free tickets to the Transparent Season 2 premiere in the USA next week.
The competition will form part of “Prime Day“, a 24-hour sales event that the online retailer is holding to mark its 20th birthday. The day will be open exclusively to its Amazon Prime members in the UK and other countries, with deals starting from midnight.
Amazon will be hoping to encourage new customers to sign up to a full Prime membership with the global event. Indeed, while Amazon Prime Instant Video is available for £5.99 a month, the online retailer is keen for streamers (and non-streamers) to upgrade their subscription to an annual £79 membership, which works out at £6.58 a month and includes free next-day delivery in the UK. New members can get a 30-day free trial of Prime.
To boost the appeal, Amazon will offer tickets to the premiere of its Golden Globe-winning TV series to Prime members. The winner and their guest will receive round-trip airfare to Los Angeles for a three-day trip, plus hotel stay and transportation to the red carpet premiere, as well as a chance to meet the cast and creators, and spending money.
What is Transparent? It’s a show, created by Jill Soloway, that explores identity, sex, and love, as family patriarch Mort (Arrested Development’s Jeffrey Tambor) comes out to his children (and ex-wife) as Maura. It’s also the best TV show of 2014, according to us.
Entries to the competition can only be made on Prime Day. For more information, head this way – or for more on Transparent, read our review of Season 1.
