Please Like Me Season 4 to premiere on Amazon Prime Video this November

Australian comedy series Please Like Me will return to Amazon Prime Video this November for a fourth season.
The award-winning series, created by comic Josh Thomas, follows a boy, his dog and the parents, friends and lovers who rely on him, has been hailed as one of the best TV comedies to come from Down Under. It’s no surprise, then, when it was snapped up by one of the UK’s streaming giants as an exclusive, with Amazon nabbing the rights for Seasons 1 to 3 this summer, through a deal with Avalon Distribution.
Season 4 will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on Thursday 10th November, within 24 hours of its initial broadcast in Australia on Wednesday 9th November. New episodes will then arrive weekly on Thursdays.
In Season 4, Josh has had it up to here with things ending. Like it’s sad how Harry Potter finished, or it’s awful to think about how Leonardo DiCaprio isn’t hot anymore. And now as he faces an empty house, coupled-up friends and a flagging love life that even a threesome can’t seem to fix, it seems like his youth is ending and he may have to face the idea of growing up.

Amazon snaps up UK rights to Australian comedy series Please Like Me
8th July 2016
Amazon has snapped up the UK streaming rights to Australian TV series Please Like Me.
Seasons 1 to 3 of the comedy drama are now available on Amazon Prime Video in the UK, following a deal between the VOD service and Avalon Distribution.
Written by and starring comedian Josh Thomas, the award-winning show looks honestly at the awkward and sometimes dark moments of our lives and relationships, and finds a way to make them funny.
Josh is shocked to be dumped by his girlfriend, Claire (Caitlin Stasey, Neighbours), and even more shocked when she tells him it’s because he’s gay. He starts to realise she may have a point, when he meets the odd but handsome Geoffrey (Wade Briggs, Home and Away). The excitement of moving out with his best friend, Tom (played by his real life best friend Thomas Ward), is put on hold when Josh has to move back to the family home to deal with his mother’s (Debra Lawrance, Home and Away) mental illness.
The programme is exec produced by Josh Thomas, Todd Abbott and Kevin Whyte. Exec producers for the ABC are Rick Kalowski and Brett Sleigh; and for Pivot, Jeff Skoll, Belisa Balaban and Chris Loveall. A Participant Media Original Series, Please Like Me is a Pigeon Fancier and John & Josh International Production, produced in association with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
The show joins a growing number of overseas series acquired by Amazon for streaming in the UK this summer, including BrainDead and American Gothic, both of which are currently releasing new episodes every week, following their US debut. All three sit alongside Amazon’s flagship acquisition, Mr. Robot, Season 2 of which kicks off on Prime Video on Thursday 14th July.
