Amazon’s Hunters will return for one last outing, and a new trailer gives us a first look at the show’s second and final season.
The conspiracy thriller, created by David Weil and exec-produced by Academy Award-winner Jordan Peele, follows a diverse band of Nazi Hunters in 1977 New York City. The group discovers that hundreds of high-ranking Nazi officials are living among us and conspiring to create a Fourth Reich in the USA. The eclectic team sets out on a bloody quest to bring them to justice and thwart their new genocidal plans.
After an accident derails their exploits in Europe, Season 2 sees the Hunters band back together to hunt down Adolf Hitler, who’s hiding in South America. Meanwhile, a look to the past reveals Meyer Offerman (Al Pacino) encountering a dangerous threat that could unravel his secret, with explosive reverberations for our Hunters.
Starring alongside Pacino will be new series regular Jennifer Jason Leigh and returning ensemble members Logan Lerman, Jerrika Hinton, Lena Olin, Josh Radnor, Tiffany Boone, Carol Kane, Louis Ozawa, Kate Mulvany and Greg Austin.
In celebration of the farewell season, Hunters will also be releasing an official six-episode companion podcast series, Chutzpah: Hunters Presents True Stories of Resistance. Debuting its first three episodes on 13th December, the new podcast profiles extraordinary true stories of heroism, resistance, and sacrifice during the Holocaust. The remaining three episodes will be available on 3rd January.
Season 2, meanwhile, will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 13th January. Here’s the trailer:

Amazon renews Hunters for Season 2
4th August 2020
Amazon has renewed Hunters for a second season.
The series stars Al Pacino alongside Logan Lerman, Jerrika Hinton, Josh Radnor, Kate Mulvany, Tiffany Boone, Greg Austin, Louis Ozawa Changchien, Carol Kane, Saul Rubinek, Dylan Baker and Lena Olin.
Creator David Weil was inspired to make the show by his own grandma, who survived the Holocaust and told him stories of her life and the horrors of the concentration camps as a child. Reworking those into a spy thriller told through a superhero lens, the result proved controversial but met with a broadly positive reception.
“Amazon’s unlikely tale of Nazi hunters is an audacious, bold, deceptively personal thriller,” we wrote in our review.
Now, several months after the show’s debut, Amazon has confirmed that Hunters is returning – an announcement that comes perhaps as little surprise, as Weil has also inked an overall deal with Weil.
“I am beyond grateful to Jen and the Amazon family for their continued extraordinary support of Hunters,” he said in a statement. “Alongside our magnificent cast, incredible crew, and brilliant writers and producers, I am more eager than ever to share the next chapter of the Hunters saga with the world.”
“With Hunters, David Weil’s bold vision and fearless imagination powered a thrilling, twisty, action-packed first season that engaged Prime Video customers around the world,” added Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon Studios, “We are thrilled that David, Jordan and the Hunters will be back with us for more.”
