Amazing Humans returns to BBC Three this weekend a brand new series of inspiring true tales.
The web series comprises a string of films about ordinary people doing amazing things, racking up hundreds of millions of views globally with its upbeat portrait of life.
“What links each film is an overwhelming optimism, the desire to make the world a better place, to use your life wisely and compassionately to make a real difference in the lives of others. In a world which sometimes seems increasingly bleak, this series is a very welcome little haven of light,” we wrote in our review of the show.
The first episode from the new series follows Claire, Avril and Sarah. Avril was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 years ago and had a single mastectomy followed by reconstructive surgery whilst Sarah, whose family have a history of cancer, was diagnosed as BRCA1 positive and had a preventative double mastectomy. Claire helps by providing free 3D nipple tattoos to women who have undergone mastectomys.
Other stories highlighted in the new series include a DJ that mentors individuals with Downs Syndrome, an autistic band, a 94-year old Judo master, an 18-year old with alopecia, a barber helping dementia patients and a body builder, who happens to be 81.
Episode 1 is available now on BBC Three’s YouTube Channel, Facebook page and the website, with new episodes arriving weekly at 10am on Saturdays – just thing to perk up your weekend morning breakfast.
