All 4 app on the way to Android

Good news, Android users and Made in Chelsea fans: All 4 is headed your way.
All 4, which replaced 4oD earlier this year to form an all-in-one online platform for Channel 4, first launched on PC and iOS devices, with plans to rollout onto Android at a later date.
Indeed, the broadcaster has over 12 million registered online users (including half of all 16-34 year olds in the UK), so an app that only reaches those with Apple phones and tablets is not harnessing the full reach of its database.
Now, that date has finally arrived: Channel 4 has released an All 4 preview app on Android to its “Core4″ panel of test viewers to trial ahead of a wider release on the Play Store before the end of the year.
The app has been developed in partnership with Novoda, an international development house specialising in mobile software.
Keith Underwood, Director of Strategy & Technology, says: “Since launch in March, All 4 has performed extremely well. As we prepare to roll-out on Android, we wanted to invite our community of registered users to get involved in shaping the application. This reflects a broader strategy of developing a strong and engaging two-way relationship with our registered users across the many facets of our business.”
While the initial public app will only include catch-up content, the preview app will be the first to receive new features, including a live-streaming function, which will be introduced in the coming months.
