The White House has announced its 10 most-watched videos on YouTube from 2014. Top of the pile? Not an impassioned address or a political ultimatum: just a guy going for a “surprise walk” on a May morning.
“The President was heading over to the nearby Department of the Interior and decided to break with tradition and take a Springtime walk,” reads the video description.
“On the way, he got a chance to meet with all sorts of folks, who weren’t expecting to meet the President of the United States of America.”
More than 5 million people have watched video to date – 5,018,355, to be exact.
What does that say about our engagement with America’s political leader? Or that a video featuring a dog dressed up as a giant mutant spider received 24 times as many views?
Mutant Giant Spider Dog (SA Wardega) was the most-watched YouTube of 2014, with 124.39 million views so far.
