Which UK cinemas are showing Netflix’s Rebecca?
David Farnor | On 16, Oct 2020
This weekend sees the release of Netflix’s Rebecca in cinemas across the UK.
Starring Armie Hammer and Lily James, the film follows a young newlywed who arrives at her husband’s imposing family estate on a windswept English coast and finds herself battling the shadow of his first wife Rebecca, whose legacy lives on in the house long after her death.
Based on Daphne du Maurier’s classic gothic novel, the film is directed by Ben Wheatley and written by Jane Goldman. The supporting cast includes Ann Dowd (The Leftovers, Hereditary), Sam Riley (reuniting with Wheatley after Free Fire) and Keeley Hawes, while Kristin Scott Thomas plays the frosty and formidable housekeeper, Mrs Danvers.
You can see them all in action worldwide on 21st October, when the film hits Netflix. Before then, however, it’s showing on the big screen at select cinemas.
Even with the coronavirus pandemic ongoing – and with distributors delaying the big blockbusters that cinemas need to help bring back those who feel safe going to theatres – the big chains have refused to show Netflix films as they break the traditional theatrical window. That means you won’t find Rebecca in multiplexes, but Netflix, after being petitioned by independent cinemas last year, has expanded its range beyond its initial partner of Curzon Cinemas to debut its titles in an array of venues.
Looking to see Rebecca on the big screen? Here’s the list of where you can watch it in UK cinemas, which we’ll keep updated with additional screenings as we confirm them.
All venues are screening Rebecca from this weekend unless otherwise stated.
