Where can I watch the final day of the 2014 Premier League online legally?

We don’t cover sports very much on VODzilla.co at the moment – mostly because we’re too busy ranking sports films on Netflix UK – but we’re big fans of legal streaming, be it films, theatre, Eurovision or football. So, for those who want to watch the final day of the 2014 Premier League online legally, here’s one answer: Sky’s video on-demand service.
It comes as no surprise that Sky would offer sports as part of their VOD package; they’ve spent millions on securing the rights to crucial matches and competitions. A NOW Sports Pass costs £8.99 and gives non-Sky customers 24 hours access to all six of the Sky Sports channels without any long-term contract. That means that from 3pm today, you can watch these deciding matches in the 2014 title race:
On Sky Sports 1, you can watch Man City vs West Ham online. On Sky Sports 2, there’s Liverpool vs Newcastle United. Or on Sky Sports 3, you can see Tottenham Hotspur vs Aston Villa. (Yeah, us neither.)
A tenner for a day of sport? It’s a big step up from Netflix. Can sports on-demand ever really kick off if the prices are so high, just for one day’s worth of streaming? Sky seem to think so. NOW recently added a YouView app to its list of supported devices – which includes Roku, tablets and consoles – so you’re not stuck watching football on a tiny screen.
Compared to a seat in a Premier League stadium, the price isn’t very much. Compared to a pint down your local pub, though, where you might have an ever bigger screen, it’s pretty expensive. Nonetheless, a large number of football fans already stump up for the 12-month contracts that traditionally come with Sky Sports. For major events, a one-off payment to crowd round the telly in the living room with some mates could be just the ticket.
