While Netflix and Amazon Prime Video both release their originals all at once – excluding things licenced from other broadcasters airing things weekly – Apple TV+ is adopting a model halfway between the modern streaming age and traditional television.

When is Apple TV+ releasing episodes?

Not unlike Hulu, Apple TV+ will be releasing the first three episodes of most original titles on their launch date, as a way to get viewers hooked. After that point, episodes are released weekly. There are some exceptions to that model (see below).

Why aren’t all episodes released at once?

As un untested, brand new platform trying to compete with Netflix – and with fewer TV shows and movies to choose from – Apple will be hoping that the steady drumbeat of weekly releases will encourage conversation and buzz to keep going for months, rather than fizzle out in a single weekend after everyone has binged through its box sets.

How many episodes are there in an Apple TV+ series?

That varies depending on the TV show. The Morning Show, its flagship title, has 10 episodes in its first season. See, starring Jason Momoa, has eight episodes in its first run. For All Mankind also has eight episodes. Dickinson has 10 episodes.

Out of the kids’ launch titles, Ghostwriter will be releasing new episodes weekly, after its first two episodes.

Which shows are being released weekly?

Out of the initial adults’ launch line-up The Morning Show, See and For All Mankind are all releasing new episodes every week after the initial drop of three episodes.

Which shows are available all-at-once?

All 10 episodes of Dickinson are available immediately from the launch of Apple TV+.

Out of the kids’ launch titles, all 6 episodes of Helpsters are available now, all 7 episodes of Ghostwriter and all 12 episodes of Snoopy in Space.

How often will Oprah’s Book Club be released?

Oprah’s Book Club will release a new episode every two months.
