Droughtland continues to be over this month, as STARZPLAY remains the official home for time-travel romance series Outlander, with new episodes of Season 6 arriving weekly (except for 17th April). It’s joined by weekly episodes of horror comedy Shining Vale (up until the finale on 17th April) and weekly episodes of Power Book IV (except for 3rd April).
Here’s what’s coming to STARZPLAY in April 2022:
The Danish Girl – 1st April
The remarkable love story inspired by the lives of artists Lili Elbe and Gerda Wegener (portrayed by Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne and Alicia Vikander), directed by Academy Award winner Tom Hooper. Lili and Gerda’s marriage and work evolve as they navigate Lili’s groundbreaking journey as a transgender pioneer.
Crank – 3rd April
A hit man has been given a poison that will kill him in one hour. In order to stay alive, delay the poison, and take revenge, he keeps his adrenaline cranked up by any means possible.
Gaslit: Season 1 – 24th April
Gaslit is a modern take on Watergate that focuses on the untold stories and forgotten characters of the scandal – from Nixon’s bumbling and opportunistic subordinates to the deranged zealots aiding and abetting their crimes to the tragic whistleblowers who would eventually bring the whole rotten enterprise crashing down. The story will center on Martha Mitchell, played by Julia Roberts. A big personality with an even bigger mouth. Martha is a celebrity Arkansan socialite and wife to Nixon’s loyal Attorney General, John Mitchell, played by Sean Penn. Despite her party affiliation, she’s the first person to publicly sound the alarm on Nixon’s involvement in Watergate, causing both the Presidency and her personal life to unravel. As Attorney General, John Mitchell is Nixon’s most trusted advisor and best friend. Temperamental, foul-mouthed and ruthless – yet hopelessly in love with his famously outspoken wife – he’ll be forced to choose between Martha and the President. New episodes arrive weekly on Sunday.
STARZPLAY costs £4.99 a month. The platform is available on iOS, Android, Apple TV and Virgin Media On Demand or through Amazon Prime Video Channels, as an add-on subscription to your existing account.
