Hacks: Season 1
The Emmy-winning HBO Max comedy finally finds a UK home. It explores the dark mentorship that forms between Deborah Vance (Jean Smart), a legendary Las Vegas comedian, and an entitled, outcast 25-year-old (Hannah Einbinder). Deborah Vance has blazed a trail through the male-dominated comedy scene for decades, hustling her way into a prime Las Vegas residency while simultaneously cultivating a successful brand of luxury items and endorsements. But after the casino owner threatens to pull back on her nights in favour of younger acts, Deborah’s manager Jimmy pitches another one of his clients, recently outcast television writer Ava, to help freshen up her set.

Slow Horses: Season 1
The six-episode drama, adapted from Mick Herron’s first novel in the Slow Horses series, Slow Horses follows a team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 – Slough House. Gary Oldman stars as Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but irascible leader of the spies who end up in Slough House due to their career-ending mistakes. Joining Oldman is a decorated ensemble cast including Kristin Scott Thomas (Darkest Hour), Jonathan Pryce (The Two Popes), Jack Lowden (Dunkirk) and Olivia Cooke (Sound of Metal).

Funeral For a Dog: Season 1
Based on the novel by Thomas Pletzinger, the fictional drama series follows journalist Daniel Mandelkern (Albrecht Schuch) as he travels to Italy for an interview with celebrated writer Mark Svensson (Friedrich Mücke), who lives by a secluded lake. Daniel is intrigued by the mysterious story of Mark, his friend Tuuli (Alina Tomnikov) and Tuuli’s missing partner Felix (Daniel Sträßer). It’s a story of a strong bond between three people that starts in South America and travels across the Artic Circle to New York on 11th September, ending with a catastrophic loss. Daniel thinks he recognises these people from Mark’s novel, however something is not quite right and as he delves deeper, he makes a shocking discovery.

Wellington Paranormal: Season 4
Say farewell to our favourite small-town cops as our favourite small-town cops return for a final series of supernatural call outs in this Taika Waititi and Jermaine Clement co-created comedy. In the opening episode of the season, Minogue and O’Leary’s investigation into the theft of shiny objects from around Wellington, including the W from the Wellington sign, leads to a confrontation with a half-bird, half-human creature. All episodes arrive at once.

Second season of the Ridley Scott-produced sci-fi drama. Week 2
Gentleman Jack: Season 2
Sally Wainwright’s hit drama, co-produced by Lookout Point and HBO, stars Suranne Jones returns as Anne Lister, alongside Sophie Rundle as Ann Walker. Season 2 picks up in Yorkshire, 1834. All eyes are on Anne Lister and Ann Walker as they set up home together at Shibden Hall, determined to combine their estates and become a power couple. Anne Lister’s entrepreneurial spirit frightens the locals as much as her unconventional love life and, with Halifax on the brink of revolution, her refusal to keep a low profile becomes provocative and dangerous.

Derry Girls: Season 3
Lisa McGee’s hilarious Channel 4 comedy returns for its final chapter, which sees Erin (Saoirse-Monica Jackson), her cousin Orla (Louisa Harland) and friends Clare (Nicola Coughlan), Michelle (Jamie-Lee O’Donnell) and Michelle’s tag along English cousin, aka The Wee English Fella, James (Dylan Llewellyn), get closer to adulthood. While Northern Ireland is growing up this gang of “eejits” certainly aren’t anytime soon – there’s hope in the air that The Troubles may finally be over, but their troubles are only just getting started.

Julia: Season 1
Sarah Lancaster and David Hyde Pierce star in this drama inspired by Julia Child’s life and long-running TV series “The French Chef”, which pioneered the cooking show genre. Through Julia and her singular can-do spirit, the series explores an evolving time in American history – the emergence of public television as a new social institution, feminism and the women’s movement, the nature of celebrity and America’s cultural growth. At its heart, the series is a portrait of a loving marriage with an evolving and complicated power dynamic. Episodes 1 to 4 arrive together.

Outer Range: Season 1

Chivalry
The six-part series – written by and starring Sarah Solemani (Him and Her, Barry) and Steve Coogan (Alan Partridge, Philomena) – explores the complex state of gender politics in the #MeToo era in the film and television industry. Gaslit
Gaslit is a modern take on Watergate that focuses on the untold stories and forgotten characters of the scandal – from Nixon’s bumbling and opportunistic subordinates to the deranged zealots aiding and abetting their crimes to the tragic whistleblowers who would eventually bring the whole rotten enterprise crashing down. Grace: Season 2
John Simm returns for the second season of ITV’s crime drama, based on the novels by Peter James. Noughts + Crosses: Season 2
This searingly timely adaptation of Malorie Blackman’s novel returns for a second season. Written by Toby Whithouse (Being Human), Lydia Adetunji (Riviera), Nathaniel Price (Tin Star) and Rachel De-Lahay (Kiri), it follows two young people Sephy and Callum, who are divided by their colour but united by love. Sephy is a ‘Cross’, a member of the Black ruling class and daughter of a prominent politician. Callum is a ‘Nought’, a white member of the underclass. The two have been friends since early childhood but their relationship grows ever more complicated as they come of age. Season 2 promises to bring the love story between Sephy and Callum to its conclusion.

Shining Girls: Season 1
This metaphysical thriller, adapted from Lauren Beukes’ novel by showrunner Silka Luisa, follows Kirby Mazrachi (Elisabeth Moss) as a Chicago newspaper archivist whose journalistic ambitions were put on hold after enduring a traumatic assault. When Kirby learns that a recent murder mirrors her own case, she partners with seasoned, yet troubled reporter Dan Velazquez (played by Wagner Moura), to uncover her attacker’s identity. As they realize these cold cases are inextricably linked, their own personal traumas and Kirby’s blurred reality allow her assailant to remain one step ahead. Co-starring Phillipa Soo, Amy Brenneman and Jamie Bell, the series is directed by Michelle MacLaren (Breaking Bad).
