This year saw the surprise launch of Quibi in the UK. Short for “Quick Bites”, the streaming platform delivers programmes and films in short chunks of 5 to 10 minutes each, designed to be watched on mobile phones on the go. A month after its launch, though, the mobile-only platform announced plans to backtrack on its signature proposition and introduce the ability to cast content to TVs – a sign of how challenging an environment it is for a new streaming service to make any headway in a crowded landscape.

This October, the service gets into the spooky spirit with new horror series The Expecting from American Psycho director Mary Harron, plus a dark dose of true crime.

The Expecting – 5th October

AnnaSophia Robb, Rory Culkin, and Mira Sorvino star in this edge-of-your-seat sci-fi thriller about a mysterious pregnancy and the potential dark secrets surrounding it. Fear is brought to life.

Last Looks – 12th October

There’s a dark side to glamour. Dakota Fanning narrates this true crime documentary series that looks at real-life crimes that shook the fashion industry, told by the people closest to each case.

Murder Unboxed – 19th October

Witness the unboxing of real case evidence while hearing from the actual investigators, prosecutors, and witnesses. Full of twists and turns, each episode will connect the dots of seemingly unrelated evidence to tell the story of what happened.
