What’s coming soon to Netflix UK in May 2018?
David Farnor | On 24, Apr 2018
May is our favourite month of the year. Not only is it getting sunny outside, but with two Bank Holidays on the cards, there’s optimum time for some box set bingeing. Netflix UK has you more than covered, with a whole host of ITV and BBC gems old and new on the way, from Little Boy Blue and Prime Suspect to Poldark, Love Island and Cold Feet.
Netflix’s classic collection gets a much-needed boost, too, with Some Like It Hot and Taxi Driver both racing onto the service – joined by, most exciting of all, Hayao Miyazaki’s debut film, The Castle of Cagliostro, the only Miyazaki film ever released on digital platforms in the UK (it’s currently available on iTunes).
There’s more cartoon magic in the form of Disney documentary Life, Animated, as well as the return of several Netflix’s kids originals, including Guillermo del Toro’s Trollhunters. May also sees Netflix take on Horrible Histories with its new educational sketch series, The Who Was? Show.
Adults won’t be left wanting for entertainment, though, with Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt back for round 4, a second helping of sharp social satire Dear White People, and Michelle Wolf’s talk show, The Break, getting its debut run. All that and a dose of Scandi survival horror The Rain? Those Bank Holidays can’t come soon enough.
Here’s what’s coming soon to Netflix UK in May 2018:
