Summer’s here and that bright blue sky means one thing: Orange Is the New Black is back. Returning for its sixth season, it’s all change for Netflix’s flagship drama, which will come as good news for fans after the divisive, uneven Season 5.

There’s more to July than just leaving Litchfield, though, with Netflix UK’s line-up bringing back hit original series Anne with an E, its first Indian original, Sacred Games, football doc sensation Last Chance U and a new serving of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.

But it’s away from the Netflix originals that this month really shines, with everything from the Fast & Furious franchise, The Mummy and the Pete’s Dragon remake to hidden Lola Kirke gem Gemini, Natalie Portman’s excellent Jackie, The Hateful Eight and David Lowery’s profound masterpiece A Ghost Story.

The Hateful Eight – 1st July

Quentin Tarantino meets Agatha Christie in what just might be the bloody, shocking Christmas film the world needs.

Fast & Furious: 1 to 7 – 1st July

Family, cars, Vin Diesel. What more could you want from a franchise that has managed to pit Jason Statham against The rock and also thrown a car at a building.

Zoo: Season 3 – 1st July

Everyone’s favourite implausible thriller about an animal uprising returns, promising more of the same unique blend of duff dialogue, cheesy action, creepy horror and did we mention the animal uprising?

Teen Wolf: Season 6, Part 2 – 1st July

The supernatural drama reaches its final season, as Scott readies Beacon Hills for his imminent departure.

Power: Season 5 – 2nd July

From Executive Producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and show creator Courtney A. Kemp (The Good Wife), Power returns to delve into the seductive nightlife of New York’s elite and the violent underworld of international drug cartels. The show follows James “Ghost” St. Patrick, who owns a popular New York nightclub. We catch up with him as his alliance with Tommy and Kanan becomes more dangerous – and as he undergoes a personal quest for vengeance.

The Comedy Lineup – 3rd July

A diverse group of up-and-coming comedians perform 15-minute sets in this stand-up comedy showcase.

Good Girls – 3rd July

Three suburban moms orchestrate a local grocery store heist to escape financial ruin and establish independence – together.

Pete’s Dragon – 5th July

Old wood carver Mr Meacham (Robert Redford) has delighted local children with his tales of the fierce dragon that resides deep in the woods. To his daughter, Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard), who works as a forest ranger, these are just stories until she meets Pete (Oakes Fegley), a mysterious 10-year-old with no family and no home who claims to live in the woods with a giant, green dragon named Elliott. Charming family entertainment.

Anne with an E: Season 2 – 6th July

Anne’s beloved world of Green Gables becomes a much bigger place, with new faces and heartfelt lessons about love, loss and growing up.

Free Rein: Season 2 – 6th July

As Zoe and the Bright Fields team prepare for Junior Nationals, they must overcome the loss of a team member, a mysterious fire and other obstacles.

First Team: Juventus: Part B – 6th July

In the second half of the season, Juve hope to hold off stiff challenges to winning another league title while moving forward in the Champions League.

The Impossible – 6th July

Juan Antonio Bayona’s drama following the aftermath of a Thailand tsunami, starring a young Tom Holland, is a gruelling, harrowing, incredibly moving experience.

Inside the World’s Toughest Prisons: Season 2 – 6th July

Raphael Rowe, who spent 12 years behind bars for a crime he didn’t commit, investigates some of the world’s toughest prisons from the inside.

Somebody Feed Phil: The Second Course – 6th July

A Ghost Story – 7th July

David Lowery’s profound tale of a timeless bond between two souls is a love story in the most haunting sense. Tune in for the feels. Stay for the 10-minute long scene of Rooney Mara eating a pie.

Mr. Sunshine – 7th July

A young boy who ends up in the U.S. after the 1871 Shinmiyangyo incident returns to Korea at a historical turning point and falls for a noblewoman.

The Wolf of Wall Street – 10th July

Leonard DiCaprio is on charismatic form in Martin Scorsese’s jet-black comedy about scheming stockbroker Jordan Belfort.

Drug Lords: Season 2 – 10th July
