What’s coming soon to Netflix UK in December 2018?

Netflix is thinking big this Christmas, with two ambitious big-hitters arriving on the service in time for holiday viewing: Alfonso Cuaron’s Oscar contender Roma and Andy Serkis’ The Jungle Book competitor Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle. It’s original film push doesn’t stop there, with A Quiet Place companion Bird Box also touching down, alongside Jennifer Aniston drama Dumplin’.
December’s also a month with a veritable sleigh-full of original titles from around the world, including Indian cricket drama Selection Day, US teen comedy Alexa & Katie, Mexican supernatural series Diablero, Guillermo del Toro’s animated family epic 3Below: Tales of Arcadia, international panel show The Fix, US true crime doc The Innocent, Canadian sci-fi Travellers, Turkish fantasy The Protector, German thriller Dogs of Berlin, French rom-com The Hook Up Plan and Bruce Springsteen Broadway show Springsteen on Broadway.
And, to top it off, Netflix is unwrapping a host of festive versions of its own series, from Nailed It! Holiday! and Neo Yokio: Pink Christmas to Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’s seasonal special. All that plus festive favourite The Holiday, modern gem Fences, stunning indie horror The Endless and moving family drama A Monster Calls? If all you want for Christmas is a Netflix subscription, you’ll definitely be getting your present’s worth.

Torn between two worlds, that of the jungle and that of humankind, Mowgli must navigate the inherent dangers in each on a journey to discover who he really is. Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Freida Pinto, Matthew Rhys and Naomie Harris lead an all-star cast along with newcomer Rohan Chand (“Mowgli”) in this visually spectacular and emotionally moving adventure. It will also be dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Bengali.
