What’s coming soon to Disney+ UK in September 2021?
James R | On 30, Aug 2021
Disney’s Netflix rival is here, serving up Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar originals, along with a post-modern revamp of High School Musical and every episode of The Simpsons.
This month sees Star Wars go to a whole new galaxy far, far away with the anime anthology Visions, while The Walking Dead’s 11th season is joined by another adult-friendly exclusive: the long-awaited adaptation of comic book Y: The Last Man. And, to cap it off, there’s a chance to catch the underrated Stumptown (fresh from Amazon Prime) and Channel 4 drama Deadwater Fell.
Here’s what’s coming to Disney+ in September 2021:
Dug Days – 1st September
Pixar Animation Studios’ Dug Days is a series of shorts that follows the humorous misadventures of Dug, the lovable dog from Disney and Pixar’s Up. Each short features everyday events that occur in Dug’s backyard, all through the exciting (and slightly distorted) eyes of our favorite talking dog. Written and directed by Academy Award® nominee and Emmy® Award winner Bob Peterson
Motherland: Fort Salem: Season 1 (Star) – 1st September

The series follows three young women, from basic training in combat magic into terrifying and thrilling early deployment.

The D’Amelio Show (Star) – 3rd September
From relative obscurity and seemingly normal life to being thrust into the Hollywood limelight almost overnight, the D’Amelios are faced with new challenges and opportunities they could not have imagined. Charli, Dixie, Heidi, and Marc do the best they can to stay close, while also trying to adjust to life in Hollywood.
Doogie Kamealoha – 8th September
Dr. Lahela “Doogie” Kamealoha, a 16-year-old prodigy, juggles a budding medical career with the daily challenges of teenage life. At the hospital, Lahela’s genius confounds patients and colleagues, who dub her “Doogie” after the ‘90s TV series Doogie Howser, MD. At home, her doting dad, Benny, and career-driven mom, Clara (Chief of Medicine and Lahela’s boss), fear she’s growing up too fast. With support from her caring — and comical — ohana (family and friends), Lahela forges her own path.

The first three episodes arrive together, then land weekly.
