Disney+ is getting in the spooky spirit this October, with Rob Savage’s The Boogeyman and all-new takes on Goosebumps and Haunted Mansion on the way. But really, it’s all about the return of Loki for a second season – and, for those wanting something more down-to-earth, Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story.

Here’s what’s coming soon to Disney+ UK in October 2023:

Dear Mama: Season 1 – 1st October

From award-winning director Allen Hughes comes FX’s Dear Mama, a deeply personal five-part series that defies the conventions of traditional documentary storytelling to share an illuminating saga of mother and son, Afeni and Tupac Shakur. Their story chronicles the possibilities and contradictions of the U.S. from a time of revolutionary fervour to hip hop culture’s most ostentatious decade. All episodes arrive at once.

Haunted Mansion – 4th October

Inspired by the classic theme park attraction, this new spooky comedy tells the story of Gabbie (Rosario Dawson), a single mom, who discovers that the home she and her son share is haunted by irksome ghosts. Hoping to restore domestic tranquility, Gabbie recruits a motley crew of so-called spiritual experts to help rid the house of the supernatural squatters. A nonstop blend of action, adventure and comedy featuring an all-star cast that includes LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Daniel Levy, Jamie Lee Curtis and Jared Leto, “Haunted Mansion” was written by Katie Dippold and directed by Justin Simien.

Loki: Season 2 – 6th October

Marvel Studios’ Loki Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15 and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose.

The Boogeyman – 11th October

High school student Sadie Harper and her younger sister Sawyer are reeling from the recent death of their mother and aren’t getting much support from their father, Will, a therapist who is dealing with his own pain. When a desperate patient unexpectedly shows up at their home seeking help, he leaves behind a terrifying supernatural entity that preys on families and feeds on the suffering of its victims. “The Boogeyman,” directed by Rob Savage with a screenplay by Scott Beck & Bryan Woods and Mark Heyman and a screen story by Scott Beck & Bryan Woods based upon the short story by Stephen King, stars Sophie Thatcher, Chris Messina, Vivien Lyra Blair, Marin Ireland, Madison Hu, LisaGay Hamilton, and David Dastmalchian.

Goosebumps: Season 1 – 13th October

This all-new TV adaptation of RL Stine’s bestselling horror books follows a group of five high schoolers as they embark on a shadowy and twisted journey to investigate the tragic passing three decades earlier of a teen named Harold Biddle – while also unearthing dark secrets from their parents’ past. The first five episodes – part one of the season – arrive at once.

Once Upon A Studio – 16th October

An all-star ensemble of beloved characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios come together in Once Upon a Studio for a joyful, entertaining and emotional reunion as they assemble for a spectacular group photo to mark Disney’s 100th anniversary. Featuring 543 characters from more than 85 Disney feature-length and short films, Once Upon a Studio welcomes heroes and villains, princes and princesses, sidekicks and sorcerers—in all-new hand-drawn and CG animation—to celebrate 10 decades of storytelling, artistry and technological achievements. Written and directed by Dan Abraham and Trent Correy.

The Wonder Years: Season 2 – 18th October

The story of the Williams family during the late 1960s, all through the point of view of imaginative 12-year-old Dean. With the wisdom of his adult years, Dean’s hopeful and humorous recollections of his past spotlight the ups and downs of growing up in a Black middle-class family in Montgomery, Alabama, and the friendship, laughter and lessons along the way.

Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story – 18th October

Uncovering one of the biggest tabloid news stories in Britain for the last decade, this three-part docueseries reveals how Coleen turned amateur online sleuth to find an explanation for why private stories concerning herself and her family continued to appear in the media. It examines the circumstances that led to her infamous Instagram post that ‘broke the internet’ all the way to Coleen successfully defending herself in one of the UK’s highest-profile High Court defamation cases of recent years. All episodes arrive at once.
