What’s coming soon to Amazon Prime Video UK in August 2022?

Amazon kicks off a big line-up to close out the summer, from Ron Howard’s Thai cave rescue drama to a slice of Paul Thomas Anderson, a dose of Liam Neeson and even Sly Stallone as a superhero. Plus, on the TV front, there’s the return of Making the Cut and another entry in Amazon’s All or Nothing sporting docufranchise.
Here’s what’s coming soon to Amazon Prime Video UK in August 2022:
All or Nothing: Arsenal: Season 1 – 4th August
All or Nothing: Arsenal will take viewers behind the curtain during a crucial season at one of the world’s biggest football clubs, as Arsenal focus their efforts on challenging for domestic success and returning to elite European competition. As well as capturing the highs and lows of life at the Emirates Stadium and the Arsenal Training Centre, the All or Nothing cameras will follow Arsenal’s squad away from the pitch to examine the daily challenges faced by elite athletes throughout a demanding calendar of high-pressure competition. Episodes 1 to 3 arrive together, followed by episodes in pairs weekly.
Thirteen Lives – 5th August
In the true story of Thirteen Lives, twelve boys and the coach of a Thai soccer team explore the Tham Luang cave when an unexpected rainstorm traps them in a chamber inside the mountain. Entombed behind a maze of flooded cave tunnels, they face impossible odds. A team of world-class divers navigate through miles of dangerous cave networks to discover that finding the boys is only the beginning.
Moonfall – 12th August
Roland Emmerich goes bigger than ever with this disaster sci-fi blockbuster, which sees a mysterious force knock the Moon from its orbit around Earth and sends it hurtling on a collision course with life as we know it. With mere weeks before impact, former astronaut Jo Fowler (Halle Berry) is convinced she has the key to saving us all – but only one astronaut from her past (Patrick Wilson) and a conspiracy theorist (John Bradley, Game of Thrones) believe her.
A League of Their Own: Season 1 – 12th August
This remake of Penny Marshall’s classic film widens the scope to tell the story of an entire generation of women who dreamed of playing professional baseball, both in and outside of the AAGPBL. The show follows Carson (Abbi Jacobson) and Max (Chanté Adams) and a new ensemble of sharp and hilarious characters as they carve their paths toward the field, along the way finding their teams and themselves.
Making the Cut: Season 3 – 19th August
Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn are back at it in this global fashion competition series, where established designers from around the world compete to be the next great fashion brand.
Memory – 19th August
When Alex (Liam Neeson), an expert assassin struggling with memory loss, refuses to complete a job for a dangerous criminal organisation, he becomes a target in Martin Campbell’s thriller.
Dog – 21st August
In this road-trip comedy, two hard-charging former Army Rangers paired against their will — Briggs (Channing Tatum) and a Belgian Malinois named Lulu — race down the Pacific Coast in hopes of making it to a fellow soldier’s funeral on time.
Tomb Raider (2018) – 23rd August
Alicia Vikander makes for a likeable Lara Croft in this fun start to a promising new franchise.
Licorice Pizza – 26th August
Alana Haim and Cooper Hoffman are magnetic in Paul Thomas Anderson’s enjoyably freewheeling coming-of-age comedy.
Samaritan – 26th August
25 years ago, the world’s greatest hero vanished. But with crime on the rise in his city, 13-year-old Sam Cleary (Javon “Wanna” Walton) suspects that his mysterious and reclusive neighbour Mr Smith (Sylvester Stallone) might be a legend hiding in plain sight…
Untrapped: The Story of Lil Baby – 26th August

Star Trek: Lower Decks: Season 3 – 26th August
With Captain Freeman (Dawnn Lewis) on trial, Mariner (Tawny Newsome), Tendi (Noël Wells), Boimler (Jack Quaid), and Rutherford (Eugene Cordero) are in for a host of new adventures – including a trip to Deep Space 9. Episodes arrive weekly.
