Shorts continue to be a central part of Channel’s VOD service, All 4, and April’s line-up of original series proves as diverse as ever, with programmes ranging from celeb wannabes to dealing with milestones.
Here’s a guide to what’s new and coming soon to the site this month:
Make Me a Famous Face – Available Now
First out of the gates is this new series, which follows the stories of four daring individuals, who will stop at nothing to reach celebrity-like perfection. From Liverpool’s answer to Pamela Anderson to the ‘Human Ken Doll’, combined they have spent hundreds of thousands of pounds on plastic surgery as they follow in the footsteps of their celebrity idols, including Kim Kardashian and Joey Essex.
Over four episodes, the series introduces us to…
Episode 1. Keeping up with Kim
Jordan James Parke is obsessed with Kim Kardashian – so much so that he has spent over £110,000 to look like her. The work he has had done ranges from self-administered lip fillers (the doctors didn’t fill quite enough) to two nose jobs. The quest for ‘Kimmy K’ perfection doesn’t stop there, either – Jordan now has his heart set on a Brazilian bum lift, despite protests from his mother…
Episode 2. Scouse Pammie
Liverpool entertainer Carolyn Anderson has been known as ‘Scouse Pammie’ for four years, since she started trying to replicate one of the world’s most revered sex symbols. Always one to stand out from the crowd, Carolyn talks breast implants and £20,000 worth of surgery, and why botox is a must every six months (or whenever her eyebrows start falling down).
Episode 3. The Only Way Is Joey
Sam Barton is a firm believer that before The Only Way Is Essex, Essex was just known as a town full of dumb people – but is now revered for being both dumb and glamourous. One of Joey Essex’s biggest admirers, Sam has spent £55,000 on plastic surgery to look more like him and it all started at the age of 17 when he stole his brother’s passport to get botox.
Episode 4. Human Ken Doll
Rodrigo Alves has undergone 35 plastic surgeries (including five nose jobs) and parted with over £200,000 in his quest to look perfect – today, he has become known as the “Human Ken Doll”. This episode introduces Rodrigo and his plastic surgeons, who have concerns that their patient may be going too far with his latest lip-related request.
