BBC Three is teaming up with Lloyd Griffith for a new football-themed comedy series, Taxi to Training.
The candid show, fronted by the comedian, choirboy and aspiring goalkeeper, will see Griffith offer some of the Premier League’s biggest stars a ride to their training ground. While en-route in Lloyd’s battered hatchback, the players take part in a number of challenges and share a couple of their favourite anecdotes about their fellow professionals.
Taxi to Training is made by Goalhanger Films and produced by Gabriella Saper and will span eight episodes.
Damian Kavanagh, Controller of BBC Three, says: “Taxi To Training will transport audiences to the passenger seat of a Premier League footballer’s journey to work, balancing candid insight with comedy via some of the Premier League’s famous faces.”
Tony Pastor, Executive Producer of Goalhanger Films, adds: “If you think professional footballers have a great life working a few hours a day, earning a fortune and having a bit of fun, this series will do nothing to change your mind.”
Episode 1 features Watford FC captain Troy Deeney is now available on BBC Three’s YouTube channel:
