“God gave us this home, and only God can take it away.” That’s the sound of Lena Headey getting ready to go head to head with Gillian Anderson in Netflix’s The Abandons – and a new trailer gives us a first look at the Western.
The series stars the Game of Thrones and Sex Education veterans as Fiona Nolan (Headey) and Constance Van Ness (Anderson), two matriarchs of the haves and have-nots in Washington Territory, 1854. The families couldn’t be more different – one of wealth and privilege bound by blood, the other a found family of orphans and outcasts bound by love and necessity. They find their fates linked by two crimes, an awful secret, a star-crossed love, and a piece of land with silver underneath.
The series co-stars as Fiona’s adopted children Elias (Nick Robinson) and Dahlia Teller (Diana Silvers), Albert Mason (Lamar Johnson), and Lilla Belle (Natalia Del Riego), plus Lucas Till as Trisha’s brother, Garret, and Aisling Franciosi as Constance’s daughter, Trisha, who strikes up a star-crossed romance with Elias. The ensemble also includes Michiel Huisman (Rebel Moon) as Roache and Patton Oswalt (A.P. Bio) as Mayor Nibley.
You can see them all in action on 4th December, when The Abandons premieres on Netflix.
