Something survived in 1985… That’s the starting point for Tales From ’85, a new animated spin-off series from Stranger Things.
Netflix has unveiled the project this week, just in time for fans bracing to bid farewell to Stranger Things when the final live-action season lands this month. Takes from ’85 is set between Season 2 and 3 and is set within the Stranger Things universe.
During a freezing winter in Hawkins, the series follows familiar faces as they fight new monsters and unravel a paranormal mystery. But nothing is quite as they thought it was.
The vocal cast incluces Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport (In Your Dreams) as Max, Luca Diaz as Mike, Elisha “EJ” Williams as Lucas, Braxton Quinney as Dustin, Ben Plessala as Will and Brett Gipson as Hopper, alongside Odessa A’zion, Janeane Garofalo and Lou Diamond Phillips.
The series is created by showrunner Eric Robles and Stranger Things co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer. The Duffers and Hilary Leavitt are also executive producing via Upside Down Pictures, along with Shawn Levy via 21 Laps and Dan Cohen.
“With animation there’s really no limits,” says Ross Duffer. “Eric and his team can just go wild … and they have.”
Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 will arrive on our screens in 2026. Here’s a teaser:
