Trailer: For All Mankind returns for Season 5
VOD News | On 24, Jan 2026
For All Mankind will officially return to our screens in March, and a new image and trailer give us a first look at Season 5.
From Ronald D Moore, Ben Nedivi and Matt Wolpert, the alt-history series explores what would have happened if the global space race had never ended. The series presents an aspirational world where NASA astronauts, engineers and their families find themselves in the center of extraordinary events seen through the prism of a different but pertinent timeline – a world in which the USSR beats the US to the moon.
Season 5 picks up in the years since the Goldilocks asteroid heist. Happy Valley has grown into a thriving colony with thousands of residents and a base for new missions that will take us even further into the solar system. But with the nations of Earth now demanding law and order on the Red Planet, friction continues to build between the people who live on Mars and their former home. The ensemble cast returning for season five includes Joel Kinnaman, Toby Kebbell, Edi Gathegi, Cynthy Wu, Coral Peña and Wrenn Schmidt, alongside new series regulars Mireille Enos (The Killing, Hanna), Costa Ronin (The Americans, Homeland), Sean Kaufman (The Summer I Turned Pretty), Ruby Cruz (Bottoms) and Ines Asserson (Royalteen).
Wolpert and Nedivi serve as showrunners and executive produce alongside Moore and Maril Davis of Tall Ship Productions, as well as Kira Snyder, David Weddle, Bradley Thompson and Seth Edelstein. Nedivi and Wolpert will also showrun a newly greenlit spin-off that will follow the Soviet space programme – and, in For All Mankind style, take us back to that key turning point of the alt-history narrative, when the Soviet Union became the first nation to put a man on the moon. A propulsive, paranoid thriller, Star City will explore the story from behind the Iron Curtain, showing the lives of the cosmonauts, the engineers and the intelligence officers embedded among them in the Soviet space program, and the risks they all took to propel humanity forward.
The 10-episode Season 5 will premiere on Friday 27th March, with episodes arriving weekly until the finale on 29th May. Here’s the trailer:
