Netflix has confirmed a May release date for its new original series, Between – and released its first trailer.
The survival thriller, which stars Jenette McCurdy, is a Canadian production. Created by writer/director Michael McGowan, it follows a town under siege from a mysterious disease that has wiped out everybody except those 21 years old and under.
The series explores the power vacuum that results when a government has quarantined a 10-mile diameter area and left the inhabitants to fend for themselves.
The six-episode series premieres in Canada on City stations, as well as VOD service Shomi. Variety confirms that it will then be released on a weekly basis on Netflix in all other territories, starting from Thursday 21st May. New episodes will then be added every Thursday. (The show will arrive on Netflix Canada one year after its broadcast.)
