What’s leaving Sky and NOW TV in March / April 2019?
David Farnor | On 19, Mar 2019
Easter is almost upon us, and in between trying to binge on Game of Thrones, take care not to miss some of the other top box sets disappearing from Sky and NOW, as licences expire and aren’t renewed for the immediate future.
This March, Sky’s box set collection – and NOW’s Entertainment Membership – bids farewell to new gems Escape at Dannemora and True Detective Season 3, plus older gems, such as ITV’s Victoria and Grey’s Anatomy,
Sky Cinema, meanwhile, is waving goodbye to Finding Dory, Guardians of the Galaxy and Kong: Skull Island, not to mention To Kill a Mockingbird and Children of Men.
Whichever you subscribe to, this coming month is your last chance to stream the following:
TV
Escape At Dannemora – 19th March
Escape at Dannemora is a Sky Atlantic drama based on the stranger-than-fiction account of a prison break in upstate New York in the summer of 2015 that spawned a massive manhunt for two convicted murderers. Starring Oscar-winners Benicio del Toro (Traffic) and Patricia Arquette (Boyhood), alongside Paul Dano (There Will Be Blood) and Bonnie Hunt (Life with Bonnie). All episodes will be available on-demand alongside the premiere’s broadcast.
No Offence: Season 1 – 19th March
This outrageous police procedural series from the writer of Shameless, starring Joanna Scanlan, is gripping and entertaining telly.
The Walking Dead: Season 1 to 9 Part 1 – 25th March
Don’t miss your chance to catch AMC’s zombie smash hit from the very beginning.
True Detective: Season 3 – 27th March
The award-winning HBO drama focuses in Season 3 on a macabre child-murder case that plays out over the course of 35 years. The disappearance of a young Arkansas boy and his sister in 1980 triggers vivid memories and enduring questions for retired detective Wayne Hays (Mahershala Ali), who worked the case 35 years ago with his then-partner Roland West (Stephen Dorff). What started as a routine case becomes a long journey to dissect, and attempt to make some sense of, the life-changing event.
Victoria: Season 1 to 3 – 31st March
Jenna Coleman is magnificent in ITV’s royal drama.
Supergirl: Season 4 Part 1 – 17th April
Melissa Benoist is on winning form in this charmingly positive, progressive superhero series.
