What’s leaving NOW TV in November and December 2015?
David Farnor | On 29, Nov 2015
Every month, deals change, rights expire, and titles leave – or land on – subscription VOD services. For NOW users, that pain is felt twice over, because the site divides its subscriptions into two types: movies and TV shows. Whether you’re an Entertainment Membership subscriber or a NOW Cinema Membership viewer – or, if you can handle the heartbreak, both – this is your last chance to stream the following titles on NOW:
Desperate Housewives Seasons 1 to 8 – 30th November
ABC’s drama gradually moved from American Beauty to trashy soap, but there’s much to enjoy in this satirical look behind the USA’s perfectly, white picket fences – especially when the catty cast includes Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Dana Delany and Eva Longoria.
Dracula: Season 1 – 30th November
This re-imagined version of Bram Stoker’s classic horror tale stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers as the Count, arriving in London pretending to be an American entrepreneur. The show, which aired on Sky Living here and on NBC in the US, was cancelled after its first season.
Game of Thrones Seasons 2 to 4 – 30th November
Still not up to speed with the latest goings-on in Westeros? Don’t miss the opportunity to catch up with the dragons, the political drama and the downright traumatic bloodshed of the second, third and fourth season.
City of God – 30th November
Everyone’s heard of Fernando Meirelles’ thrilling tale of young boys growing up in the violent neighbour of Rio de Janeiro – and with good reason.
Sense and Sensibility – 30th November
Alan Rickman in a hat. If that isn’t enough to get your attention, Ang Lee’s sumptuous take on Jane Austen’s tale (adapted by Emma Thompson) of three daughters stars Kate Winslet, Thompson, High Grant and Gemma Jones.
Twilight – 30th November
Catherine Hardwicke brings a keen sense of teen angst and romance to this first entry in the vampire saga, which sees Kristen Stewart’s Bella fall for Robert Pattinson’s undead Edward Cullen.
The Sopranos Seasons 1 to 6 – 21st December
The greatest TV show of all time? It’s been so many years since the gangster drama starring James Gandolfini that this is a rare chance to binge on SVOD and discover it for yourself. The bad news? You’ve only got a few weeks to do it. Start now.
