Easter is upon us, which means an eggs-cellent chance to catch up with some of Amazon Prime Video’s best box sets, from The Good Type and The Looming Tower to Hap and Leonard and Sneaky Pete. With the end of the month, though, comes the missed opportunity to stream some of Amazon Prime Video’s best films, as the rights to a range of movies expire ahead of April.

From Elijah Wood playing the piano to Matt Damon playing someone else, this is your last chance to stream the following on Amazon Prime Video UK:

Grand Piano – 29th March

Elijah Wood is held hostage by a sniper while playing the piano at a concert in this absurdly tense thriller.

Man on Wire – 29th March

This documentary explores Philippe Petit’s preparations for historically walking across a high wire between New York’s Twin Towers. The feat itself is gripping to watch – but even more mind-blowing is director James Marsh’s ability to show you what happened that day without a single piece of video footage existing.

A Single Man – 29th March

It’s hard not be completely enraptured by some films. Detailing a single day in the single life of Professor George Falconer (a magnificently restrained Colin Firth), A Single Man sees the Brit dealing with the loss of long-term partner Jim (Matthew Goode) in a car accident. Standing in class, staring at nothing, George is lonely, sad, and incredibly sexy. It’s hard not to notice that. The sexiness. Tom Ford’s direction lingers on his costume design – the dark glasses, the brown suits – but the screen erupts with a radioactive intensity during moments of genuine connection. A closet homosexual during the Cuban Missile Crisis, Colin’s day is drained of colour, then it flares into bright, posterised life, all blue contact lenses and orange skin. The result occasionally looks like an advert, but the transient gloss makes you feel every glorious, aching second.

Only God Forgives – 29th March

Ryan Goslin and Nicolas Winding Refn teamed up again after Drive to make Only God Forgives. If the former lightly tip-toed around the discotheque of darkness, then this is an all-out Danse Macabre. A gnarly and lubricious film that lambadas its way through an assortment of big themes like honour, masculinity and Oedipal rage. With karaoke.

The Talented Mr. Ripley – 31st March

Anthony Minghella’s adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s novel, The Talented Mr. Ripley, is sumptuous stuff, with a stellar performance from Jude Law as rich boy Dickie Greenleaf and Matt Damon as the lower-class fraud who envies his life.

Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy – 31st March

Inception – 2nd April

Christopher Nolan’s mind-blowing sci-fi literally folds Paris in on itself to achieve the director’s ambitious, imaginative aims: to dissect dreams, reality and memories within the constraints of a mainstream blockbuster. The form struggles at times to keep hold of the content – and that’s exactly the point. If you’ve never seen it, here’s your chance. If you already have, see it again.

Where the Wild Things Are – 9th April

It’s hard to know what Warner Bros. were expecting when they hired Spike Jonze to adapt Maurice Sendak’s beloved picture book, but what they got was less a kids’ movie and more a mature study of childhood, complete with strong adult cast (Catherine Keener, Paul Dano, James Gandolfini), stunning visuals and lots of furry beasts. Adorable, endearing and breathtakingly moving.
