Yesterday and Really have both launched a seven-day catch-up service on YouView.
The contract-free set-top box allows viewers to browse all available catch-up TV services from terrestrial providers in a handy on-screen guide, including 4oD, ITV Player and BBC iPlayer. Now, Really and Yesterday have joined the line-up, as UK TV adds to its existing channel Dave on the open source system.
Yesterday and Really are the UK’s number one channels in the Factual and Lifestyle genres. The services, which went live last week, allow viewers to access content on both through branded on-demand portals and through YouView’s seven-day scroll back programme guide.
The three free-to-air channels form part of UKTV’s network of 10 channels and today’s launch means YouView customers can access even more of the broadcaster’s award-winning content. Hit shows such as Rescue: Code One, Ghost Adventures, and Got Home Alive on Really and Raiders of the Lost Past, Find My Past and Black Ops on Yesterday are all now easily accessible via the click of a button.
Dan Fahy, UKTV’s Head of Commercial Development, commented: “UKTV is committed to making its bold and innovative programmes and channel brands available to as many viewers as possible. The launch of seven day catch up services for Yesterday and Really on YouView is another important milestone for us in ensuring viewers have ‘anytime, anywhere’ access to our content.”
David Dorans, CFO, YouView said: “We are delighted to welcome even more UKTV content to our line-up of on demand TV content. Easily finding and enjoying the best TV available is at the heart of everything we do at YouView. Adding on demand TV programmes from popular channels Really and Yesterday makes YouView even more compelling for UK consumers.”
