While Amazon Prime Video is preparing to drop Palm Springs this weekend, it’s already got its eyes on its next high-profile release, with a new trailer arriving for Without Remorse.
The film tells the explosive origin story of one of the most popular characters in Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan universe: elite Navy SEAL John Clark. When a squad of Russian soldiers kills his family in retaliation for his role in a top-secret op, John Kelly (Michael B Jordan) pursues the assassins at all costs. Joining forces with a fellow SEAL (Jodie Turner-Smith) and a shadowy CIA agent (Jamie Bell), Kelly’s mission unwittingly exposes a covert plot that threatens to engulf the US and Russia in an all-out war. Torn between personal honour and loyalty to his country, Kelly must fight his enemies without remorse if he hopes to avert disaster and reveal the powerful figures behind the conspiracy.
The film was acquired by Amazon from Paramount last year and premieres on Amazon Prime Video on 30th April. Here’s the new video:

Without Remorse: Michael B Jordan thriller heads to Amazon
2nd August 2020
Without Remorse, a new thriller starring Michael B Jordan, is heading to Amazon Studios.
The online giant has been in final talks to bag the worldwide rights to the film, which is based on the Tom Clancy novel. The film follows US Navy SEAL John Clark, one of Clancy’s most well-known characters after Jack Ryan. Clark has been played on screen before by Willem Dafoe in Clear and Present Danger and Liev Schreiber I’m The Sum of All Fears. The film sees Clark try to avenge his wife’s murder.
The deal would be a natural step for Amazon, which is already the home of the new series Jack Ryan, starring John Krasinski as the CIA analyst. It would also be a boost for Amazon Prime Video’s film arm, which has enjoyed a number of award-winning arthouse titles, such as Kenneth Lonergan’s Manchester by the Sea, but hasn’t been pumping out mainstream blockbusters in the vein of Netflix’s The Old Guard.
As well as Michael B Jordan, the film stars Jamie Bell, Jodie Turner-Smith and Luke Mitchell. It is written by Taylor Sheridan (Hell or High Water, Sicario) and Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind), with Stefano Sollima at the helm. The move would also make sense for Paramount amid the current challenging climate, having previously sold Aaron Sorkin’s The Trial of the Chicago 7 and The Lovebirds to Netflix.
