With Doom Patrol dominating STARZPLAY’s line-up in January and Richard Curtis’ rom-com Four Weddings and a Funeral debuting in December, the subscription platform is starting to step up its game with two new original series this month, including a thriller starring Jimmi Simpson and Ben Kingsley and the continuation of a Stephen King horror. Both arrive all-at-once as box sets.
Here’s what’s coming soon to STARZPLAY in February 2020:
Perpetual Grace, Ltd: Season 1 – 6th February
Perpetual Grace, LTD follows James (Jimmi Simpson), a young grifter, as he attempts to prey upon Pastor Byron Brown (Sir Ben Kingsley), who turns out to be far more dangerous than James suspects. The pastor and his wife Lillian (Jacki Weaver), known to their parishioners as Pa and Ma, have used religion to swindle hundreds of innocent people out of their life savings in Half Acre, NM.
Castle Rock:: Season 2 – 13th February
A psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, Castle Rock is an original story that combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. In Season 2, a feud between warring clans comes to a boil, just as budding psychopath Annie Wilkes, Stephen King’s nurse from hell, gets waylaid in Castle Rock.
Love, Rosie – out now
Rosie and Alex have been best friends since they were 5, so they couldn’t possibly be right for one another… or could they? When it comes to love, life and making the right choices, these two are their own worst enemies.
Friends with Kids – out now
A tight-knit circle of friends are shocked when the last two singles in the group announce that they plan to raise a child together without being in a relationship.
3:10 to Yuma – out now
A rancher and the captive outlaw in his charge learn to respect each other on a dangerous journey to catch a train. Time waits for one man. Based on a story by Elmore Leonard.
The Bank Job – out now
Inspired by an extraordinary true event, The Bank Job is a highly-charged thriller which interweaves a heady combination of intrigue, danger and scandal in early ‘70s London.
