“There was this bee…” That’s the sound of Rowan Atkinson dialling up his physical slapstick to 11 for a new Netflix comedy, Man vs Bee.

Playing out like a winged answer to 1997’s Mouse Hunt, the series follows Trevor, who gets a job as a house-sitter at a mansion, but soon finds his stay disrupted by a buzzy intruder. The more he tries to catch the bee, the more he bumbles his way through chaos and unwitting destruction. From hitting his knee with a hammer to damaging priceless figurines, expect carnage served up with Atkinson’s signature deadpan across bite-sized episodes.

The series is written and directed by David Kerr and co-stars Jing Lusi, Claudie Blakley, Tom Basden, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Greg McHugh and India Fowler. You can see them – and the bee – in action on 24th June. Until then, here’s the trailer:
