Amazon has released two new images from Season 2 of Mr. Robot.
Sam Esmail’s cyberthriller stars Rami Malek as Elliot, a young cyber-security engineer who falls in with underground hacker group fsociety, after being recruited by their leader, Mr. Robot (Christian Slater). At the start of Season 2, everyone is reeling from the impact of the group’s latest hack, while Elliot is struggling to piece together the three days of missing time he experienced following that night.
Slater and Malek both return to reprise their roles, as these new photos confirm, although how their relationship will play out in the show’s second run is still yet to be seen.
Here are the new photos – just in case you’re not already counting down the days until its return on 14th July.

26th May 2016
You may recall last year when we reported that Mr. Robot Season 2 would premiere in the UK within hours of its US broadcast this year. Now, Amazon has officially confirmed that the show’s second run will start on Thursday 14th July – within 24 hours of its debut on USA Network.
Rami Malek will reprise his lead role as Elliot, a young cyber-security engineer who falls in with underground hacker group fsociety, after being recruited by their leader, Mr. Robot (Christian Slater). At the start of Season 2, everyone is reeling from the impact of the group’s latest hack, while Elliot is struggling to piece together the three days of missing time he experienced following that night.
Alongside Malek, returning cast members include BD Wong, Gloria Reuben, Michael Drayer, Michel Gill, Ron Cephas Jones, Sunita Mani, Azhar Khan and Ben Rappaport. Michael Christopher and Stephanie Corneliussen have also been promoted to series regulars for Season 2, playing the CEO of Evil Corp and Tyrell Wellick’s wife respectively.
The fate of Martin Wallström’s Tyrell is less clear, as this clip from the official Mr. Robot Twitter account suggests:
Five/Nine was the beginning. It's time we change the world.

New guest stars for the second run include Craig Robinson, hip hop artist Joey Bada$$, Sandrine Holt, Michael Maize, Dorothi Fox and Luke Robertson.
Most intriguing of all is the casting of France Ha and Extant’s Grace Gummer as Dominique “Dom” DiPierro, an FBI agent investigating the fsociety hack.
“Y’all know that Grace Gummer was cast — and she’s amazing by the way,” creator Sam Esmail told fans at an event earlier this year. “Elliott committed a crime in the first season, and we’re gonna see the ramifications of that in the second season, I think that drives a lot about what the second season’s all about. And that’s why there’s the introduction of law enforcement that was kind of intentionally not shown in the first season, so that opens a whole new dimension there.”
With Esmail reportedly directing all 10 episodes of Season 2, the promise of a “whole new dimension” makes Season 2 of Mr. Robot sound as mind-boggling as ever. You know, in case Christian Slater’s character wasn’t enough to deal with already.
