Viewster has signed up eight new anime titles for simulcast in the UK.

The VOD service’s latest deal sees eight new titles join its existing five continuing shows, which stream online shortly after their broadcast on TV in Japan.

Viewster is a free VOD service, with its streaming supported by adverts, which means that many series otherwise often unavailable outside of Japan will be available legally on British shores, as well as in the US, Australia, Ireland, Europe and others. (Territorites will vary according to each title.)

“Anime as a category continues to grow for us, and we are seeing excellent results with both viewers and advertisers alike,” comments Kai Henniges, Chief Executive Officer of Viewster.

“We will continue to invest in the space and are excited about expanding our lineup to include some of the biggest hits out there.”

In addition to its premiere simulcast lineup, which includes exclusive windows on several titles, Viewster continues to expand its anime catalogue, now one of the largest in Europe. Indeed, TV Tokyo’s Samurai Warrior (pictured) will soon join the other series, although an exact release date is yet to be confirmed.
