Wayward Pines premieres around the world on Thursday 14th May, when it will also be available to watch online in the UK.
The psychology thriller, which is executive-produced by M. Night Shyamalan, is based on Blake Crouch’s best-selling books and adapted for TV by Chad Hodge.
The series spans 10 episodes and stars Matt Dillon as a Secret Service agent on a mission to find two missing federal agents in the titular small town. The cast includes an impressive line-up of talent, including Toby Jones and Terrence Howard. Its simultaneous global debut in more than 125 countries makes it the world’s largest day-and-date launch for a scripted series ever.
It marks a new focus for Fox on releasing shows day-and-date in the US and UK, following on from the climax of The Walking Dead Season 5. Much like The Walking Dead, it will also be available to watch without Sky via NOW, Sky’s VOD service. With an Entertainment Membership, which costs £6.99 a month (no contract), viewers will be able to stream each episode live on Thursday evenings and catch up for another seven days on-demand.
A NOW Entertainment Membership subscription also includes Game of Thrones Season 5, Mad Men and The Affair.
