The Sinner will return to Netflix this January, and a new trailer gives us a closer look at Season 4.
USA Network’s hit crime thriller, named after Petra Hammesfahr’s 1999 novel, began back in 2017 as a limited series starring Jessica Biel as a woman trying to work out why she killed a man and Bill Pullman as Detective Harry Ambrose, who was assigned to the case. Its popularity swiftly saw it renewed, with Pullman reprising his role as Ambrose and the cast and case changing with each subsequent season. The second season starred Carrie Coon, the third Matt Bomer and now, Season 4 sees Pullman joined by a new ensemble cast.
Still reeling from the trauma of a previous case a year ago, the now-retired Harry Ambrose (Pullman) travels to Hanover Island in northern Maine for a recuperative getaway with his partner, Sonya (Jessica Hecht). When an unexpected tragedy occurs involving the daughter of a prominent island family, Ambrose is recruited to help the investigation, only to be thrown into a mystery of mounting paranoia that will turn this sleepy tourist island, and Ambrose’s life, upside down.
Season 4 premieres on Netflix UK on 26th January, with the whole box set arriving at once. Here’s a trailer:
