Nic Cage’s new film, Joe, will be available to watch online in the UK on Friday 25th July.
The movie, directed by David Gordon Green, is based on Larry Brown’s novel and is set in the modern backwoods of the South, where friendship, violence and redemption erupt.
The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival last year and earned acclaim at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival. Nicolas Cage stars, returning to his indie roots as ex-con Joe Ransom, and is joined by another exciting actor: Tye Sheridan, last seen in the fantastic coming-of-age flick Mud.
The film is the latest to be released day-and-date in UK cinemas and on VOD by Curzon Film World, whose streaming service Curzon Home Cinema was recently relaunched with a new, easier-to-use layout. The distributor, which specialises in giving a platform to arthouse and independent films, has recently announced a string of deals with various TV providers, such as Freesat and BT, which means that viewers will be able to watch Joe online in your living room as well as on their computers.
We’ll have a review – and a round-up of what digital platforms the film will be available on – nearer its release.
