Marvel is getting into the spooky spirit for Halloween with new series Werewolf by Night arriving this October – and a new trailer gives us a first look.

Directed by composer Michael Giacchino, the series stars Gael García Bernal and Laura Donnelly and is based on the comic book character who has traditionally been a sparring partner of Moon Knight. Ever since Jack Russell first transformed into a werewolf, the howling hero has protected the darkest corners of the Marvel Universe from supernatural threats – while going on an occasional rampage himself.

Alongside Bernal as Jack Russell, Laura Donnelly will play Harriet Sansom Harris, with filming taking place in March and April 2022. Marvel’s first TV special, it co-stars Jaycob Maya, Eugenie Bondurant and Kirk Thatcher, with the hour-long one-off expected to tie into the MCU’s Phase 4, even though it it will have a 30s/40s horror vibe.

The black-and-white trailer for the special certainly sets the mood. Watch it below, with the full thing unleashed on Disney+ on 7th October:
