Trailer: Tales of the Jedi set for October release

Star Wars is expanding its animated universe this October, and a new trailer gives us a first look at Tales of the Jedi.
The anthology series comprises animated shorts that tell stories featuring Jedi from the prequel era, including the tales of a younger Ahsoka and Count Dooku – and, as Count Dooku’s apprentice, a young Qui-Gon Jinn, with Liam Neeson returning to voice the character.
It joins a growing slate of animated Star Wars programmes on Disney+, including Young Jedi Adventures – arriving in 2023 – a second season of anime anthology Star Wars: Visions, and the return of Clone Wars follow-on The Bad Batch for a second season.
Tales of the Jedi will comprise six episodes, each charting two paths and two choices. The opening episode Life and Death features the birth of Ahsoka and one of her first adventures with her mother. Lucasfilm’s Dave Filoni describes the shorts as “tone poems”, told through visuals with minimal dialogue.
The series will premiere on Disney+ on 26th October.
Disney+ doubles down on animated Star Wars series
2nd June 2022
Disney+ is doubling down on its success with animated Star Wars series, with two new shows given the green light: Tales of the Jedi and Young Jedi Adventures.
Tales of the Jedi is an anthology series comprising animated shorts that tell stories featuring Jedi from the prequel era, including the tales of a younger Ahsoka and Count Dooku – and, as Count Dooku’s apprentice, a young Qui-Gon Jinn, with Liam Neeson returning to voice the character.
The series will premiere on Disney+ this autumn.
Also in the pipeline is Young Jedi Adventures, a show following a new class of aspiring Jedi younglings. The first full-length animated Star Wars series created for preschoolers, younger children and their familes, it will tackle topics of compassion, self-discipline, teamwork, patience, and friendship. The new series will be part of the era known as the High Republic, set centuries before the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.
The series will premiere on Disney+ in 2023.
The announcement of the two new programmes follows the news that anime anthology Star Wars: Visions will return in spring next year for a second volume.
