How to Build a Girl, based on the best-selling Caitlin Moran novel, arrives on Amazon Prime Video this July.

It’s 1990. Johanna Morrigan is sixteen, smart, opinionated and overweight. Hormones raging, she is desperate to get out of her home town and make a name for herself – which she does, reinventing herself as Dolly Wilde, bad-ass music critic. Gaining notoriety as an enfant terrible, she has finally figured out how to build a girl – but is this the girl she wanted to build?

Beanie Feldstein stars, leading a cast that includes Paddy Considine, Michael SheenGiedroyc, Sue Perkins, Lily Allen, Gemma Arterton, Jameela Jamil, Sharon Horgan, Chris O’Dowd, Joanna Scanlan, Alfie Allen and Emma Thompson. Moran has adapted the book for the screen herself, with Coky Giedroyc (Save Me, Harlots) at the helm.

The film premieres on Amazon Prime Video on 24th July. Here’s the trailer:
